Earl Sweatshirt: Some Rap Songs [Tan Cressida/Columbia]

Some Rap Songs is Earl Sweatshirt’s first new album in three years, following I Don’t Like Shit, I Don’t Go Outside. The 15-track record features Standing on the Corner and Navy Blue (“The Mint”). It also features Earl’s mother Cheryl Harris and his father, poet Keorapetse Kgositsile, who died in January 2018. Check out Pitchfork’s review of “Nowhere2go.”

Jeff Tweedy’s new solo album features contributions from his son Spencer, Glenn Kotche, and Tom Schick. The liner notes for the record were written by Lincoln in the Bardo author George Saunders. WARM arrives on the heels of last year’s acoustic collection Together at Last and Wilco’s 2016 record Schmilco.

Galya Bisengalieva: EP ONE [NOMAD]

Galya Bisengalieva is a Kazakh/British violinist who leads the London Contemporary Orchestra. She has contributed to Radiohead’s A Moon Shaped Pool, Thom Yorke’s Suspiria, Frank Ocean’s Blonde, and Jonny Greenwood’s Phantom Thread, among other projects. EP ONE is Bisengalieva’s debut solo release. It includes three tracks, each composed by a different UK-based artist. Bisengalieva wrote the second song, “Tulpar.”

Lil Baby: Street Gossip [Quality Control/Wolfpack Global/Motown/Capitol]

Street Gossip is Atlanta rapper Lil Baby’s third project of 2018, following May’s Harder Than Ever and October’s Gunna collaboration Drip Harder. The new 13-song Street Gossip features Young Thug, 2 Chainz, Migos’ Offset, Gucci Mane, Meek Mill, Gunna, and others.

Lisa/Liza: Momentary Glance [Orindal]

Lisa/Liza is the recording project of Main-based singer/songwriter/guitarist Liza Victoria. Momentary Glance is her second album for Orindal Records, following 2016’s Deserts of Youth. The new LP was recorded and mixed almost entirely by Godspeed! You Black Emperor’s Efrim Manuel Menuck.

Victoria made Momentary Glance after losing a friend due to suicide. “This album was made in the most difficult time of my life to date,” she said in a statement. “If the album represents anything for me, it is finding strength in showing up for your fears, because many days that’s all we can do.”
