N.W.A., Janet Jackson, Nine Inch Nails, the Smiths Nominated for 2016 Rock Hall of Fame

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced nominees for the 2016 induction, including N.W.A., Janet Jackson, Nine Inch Nails, the Smiths, and Chic. Check out the list below.

Nine Inch Nails, the Smiths, and Yes are picking up their second nominations; Deep Purple, the Spinners, N.W.A., and Chic have previously been nominated multiple times.

In order to be eligible for induction, artists need to have released their first single or album 25 years ago (no later than 1990). Fans can cast their vote over at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's website. The top five artists selected by the public will make up a "fans' ballot" that will be tallied with other votes from an international voting body. The inductees will be announced in December.
