Alanna McArdle, frontwoman of Welsh punk outfit Joanna Gruesome, has announced on Facebook that she is leaving the band for mental-health related reasons. Her statement reads:
McArdle joined Joanna Gruesome after their former vocalist left the band, and appeared on their two LPs: 2013's Weird Sister and this year's Peanut Butter. She is succeeded by two new singers: vocalist Kate Stonestreet, of Glasgow feminist/queer punk band Pennycress, and Roxy Brennan of Two White Cranes, Grubs, and others. According to Joanna Gruesome's Facebook, the latest incarnation of the band have already begun plotting new tunes, with a 7" due to arrive in the coming months. They've also announced a tour; find full dates below.
