As you may recall, the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics was insane and featured performances by Paul McCartney, Arctic Monkeys, and more. And while the Closing Ceremony didn't have Mr. Bean or the Queen of England parachuting out of the sky, it did have the Who, Pet Shop Boys, Madness, one of the Gallagher brothers, Ray Davies, Queen, George Michael, Spice Girls, and Eric Idle.

Naturally, there were some ridiculous highlights. When Madness did "Our House", their saxophonist was lifted in the air by a pulley while wearing a kilt made of the Union Jack and one of those shriner hats. While Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill" was played (no, Kate Bush wasn't there), dancers mimed running up a hill-- that version of the song is available now, via Bush's website. A terrifying sculpture of John Lennon's face was created while a children's choir sang "Imagine". Pet Shop Boys did "West End Girls" while being driven around on buggies and wearing crazy headpieces designed by Gareth Pugh. Fatboy Slim emerged from a huge inflatable octopus. David Bowie's "Fashion" played (no, David Bowie wasn't there either) while Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, and Karen Elson strutted.

A big band played Blur's "Parklife". Beady Eye did "Wonderwall"; Noel didn't show. Ray Davies did "Waterloo Sunset". Kaiser Chiefs covered "Pinball Wizard", leading us to believe that the Who wasn't there. Later, the Who closed with "Baba O'Riley", "See Me, Feel Me", and "My Generation".

The Closing Ceremony is airing right now (9pm Eastern) in the U.S. on NBC.
