Если при упоминании слова "Эмо" или словосочетания "Эмо-музыка" вы представляете тот самый год, который не вернуть, и ребят с чёрными чёлками в узких джинсах, значками на сумках через плечо и розовыми кедами converse - то спешу развеять ваши заблуждения т.к. всё выше перечисленное никакого отношения не имеет к настоящему жанру emo (имо).
Немного краткого экскурса в историю. В середине 80-х годов в ответ на застойную hardcore punk сцену, стали появляться группы, играющие более мелодичную музыку с эмоциональной лирикой. Это и положило начало развития такого жанра как emo, который сформировал новые музыкальные жанры и стили - midwest emo, screamo, emoviolence, emocore.
В нулевые же зародилась субкультура под названием - эмо. Все атрибуты настоящего emokid'а, перечисленные выше, являлись показателем того, что человек причисляет себя к данной субкультуре и слушает эмо-музыку. Но вот как раз с музыкой дело обстоит неоднозначно. Большинство котировали тяжёлую музыку с экстрим вокалом и отдавали предпочтение таким жанрам как deathcore, metalcore, post-hardcore, emocore и даже где-то nu-metal, но вот к реальному emo звучанию это не имело ни какого отношения.
Данный плейлист включает в себя композиции, на мой взгляд отражающие всё многообразие жанра и в полной мере сможет познакомить вас с настоящим emo вайбом.

"Real Emo" only consists of the dc Emotional Hardcore scene and the late 90's Screamo scene. What is known by "Midwest Emo" is nothing but Alternative Rock with questionable real emo influence. When people try to argue that bands like My Chemical Romance are not real emo, while saying that Sunny Day Real Estate is, I can't help not to cringe because they are just as fake emo as My Chemical Romance (plus the pretentiousness). Real emo sounds ENERGETIC, POWERFUL and somewhat HATEFUL. Fake emo is weak, self pity and a failed attempt to direct energy and emotion into music. Some examples of REAL EMO are Pg 99, Rites of Spring, Cap n Jazz (the only real emo band from the midwest scene) and Loma Prieta. Some examples of FAKE EMO are American Football, My Chemical Romance and Mineral EMO BELONGS TO HARDCORE NOT TO INDIE, POP PUNK, ALT ROCK OR ANY OTHER MAINSTREAM GENRE

P.S. No question about Cap n Jazz, it is real emo and one of the first emo band but how does them sound any different from Mineral or Sunny Day Real Estate? ^__^
