TuneCore Launches Operations in Latin America: Exclusive
TuneCore officially launches operations across Latin America, offering its services to independent artists in the region.

After distributing music by over 3,000 Latin American artists worldwide, TuneCore has officially launched operations across Latin America.
TuneCore LATAM will support artists in Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Chile, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Spain. The company’s Latin American operation will be headed by Bruno Duque, formerly marketing manager at digital Latin American distributor iMusica.
Duque, who for the past six months has led TuneCore Brazil, will now expand his oversight to the entire region, plus Spain. He will report to Said Faryal Khan-Thompson, TuneCore’s vice president, International.
Duque will officially announce TuneCore’s LATAM plans during a fireside chat at the Midem LATAM forum that will go live March 12 (Friday) at 9 a.m. ET.

TuneCore’s low, flat-fee per track ($9.99), plus its “100 percent of 100 percent” pay model, could prove to be particularly attractive in Latin America, where artist resources are far more limited than in the U.S. or Europe.
By the same token, music revenues in Latin America have continued to grow more than any other region in the past four years, according to IFPI reports, and there is a burgeoning number of independent artists in need of international distribution and access.
“There are so many artists doing different fusions with local rhythms,” Duque told Billboard. “There is so much musical creativity going on in the region that not only deserves to be heard by a wider audience, but also deserves to generate revenue for the artists.”
An early success story is Mexican trio Somos Tres, a trio that plays a mix of pop and ranchera and whose handful of tracks have over 21 million streams on Spotify.
TuneCore, whose site offers 13 language options, including Spanish and Portuguese, distributes directly to over 150 digital stores. Its loyalty program, TuneCore Rewards, will also launch in Spanish in April.
In addition to officially announcing its Latin operations today, the company will also launch its #ASÍdeIndependiente campaign, celebrating its 15th anniversary, and offering indie artists 25% of their first year’s distribution of an album or single.
