Mystic Messenger Jaehee route (Casual Story): A complete walkthrough to romancing Jaehee and getting her good ending

Plus general tips and advice on how to get to Jaehee's alternate endings.

Mystic Messenger has just one female love interest: Jaehee, the incredibly capable but vastly overworked chief assistant to C&R's exasperating heir apparent.

A dedicated and hardworking young woman determined to get ahead in the world, Jaehee is only available in Casual Story. We suggest you play through her route on your third playthrough, after pursuing Zen and Yoosung but before moving on to either of the Deep Story options. While her route is light on essential story information, it will reveal plenty about other characters, especially Zen and Jumin, as well as deepening your respect and affection for the organisational heart of RFA.

Mystic Messenger Jaehee romance: General tips

Younger and less experienced than her role suggests, Jaehee makes up for it with laser focus and a deep well of ability. She's conscious that her connection to her friends in the RFA originates with her frequently unbearable boss, and is not as secure as she pretends to be. Although she doesn't hide that fact that's badly exploited and overworked by Jumin, she lacks any other life priorities to encourage her to pursue a healthier life balance.

Underneath her professional exterior, Jaehee's dying for a female friend to gossip and share secrets with, and will open up and show you her dreams if you prove you share her interests and have her welfare at heart. Although the route is very subtly written so as to make any interpretation possible, the bonus material makes it clear that if you fancy Jaahee more than platonically that option is open to you. Your choice, though.

When your answers are meaningful to Jaehee you'll receive a yellow heart – although as usual that doesn't necessarily mean you've given a good ending answer. Here are some general tips for getting to know Jaehee:

  • Don't encourage Jumin's cat project fancies
  • Don't scold Jaehee for not working harder
  • Don't suck up to Jumin or suggest you want to work for him

Mystic Messenger Jaehee romance: Common route (Days 0-4) walkthrough

Jaehee is only available in Mystic Messenger's Casual Story mode. If you're playing Deep or Another Story, you can't catch her.

As usual for our Mystic Messenger "route-get" walkthroughs, we're only listing the chats here where you earn hearts for your target – in this instance, Jaehee. You should participate in more chats than these, aiming for a participation score of at least 50%. In any chat where Jaehee is not present, your strategy should be to favour Jumin and 707, as these are "safe" hearts that can't push you onto a different character route, and when that's not possible, to alternate between Zen and Yoosung to avoid earning too many hearts from either of them.

That said, Mystic Messenger is designed so that you and the characters play off against each other round-robin style, so as long as you always favour Jaehee and don't miss too many of her chats, she'll come out on top with the answers we've provided below.

Mystic Messenger Jaehee romance: Endings

Like all Mystic Messenger characters, Jaehee's route offers multiple endings. Above we've gone into detail about how to get her Good Ending, but if you want to go back and see her others too, here's the outline:

  • Jaehee Normal End: Reach the party with 0-9 opened RSVP emails.
  • Jaehee Good End: Reach the party with 10 or more opened RSVP emails.
  • Jaehee Bad Story End 1: Select incorrect answers (pursue Zen romantically and reject Jaehee's friendship) through to the Day 6 branch.
  • Jaehee Bad Story End 2: Select correct answers through the Day 6 branch, then switch to incorrect answers (scold Jaehee for not working harder) through to the Day 8 branch.
  • Jaehee Bad Story End 3: Select correct answers through the Day 8 branch, then switch to incorrect answers (flatter and support Jumin instead of Jaehee) through the Day 10 branch.
  • Jaehee Bad Relationship End 1: Score below chat 30% participation or win more hearts for another character than Jaehee on Days 5 through 6.
  • Jaehee Bad Relationship End 2: Pass the Day 7 branch, then score below 30% chat participation or win more hearts for another character than Jaehee on Days 7 through 10.

Judicious use of saves can help you get all these down with just one visit to Jaehee's route. You will need to reload your save four times, so it will cost you 20 HG in total. Make sure you understand the rules for reloading saves before you do this! Here’s the most efficient method:

  • Do not open RSVP emails (those you receive after three correct replies).
  • Make a manual save after reaching Day 5, then achieve Bad Relationship End 1.
  • Reload your save and achieve Bad Story End 1.
  • Reload your save and achieve Bad Relationship End 2.
  • Reload your save, progress to the Day 7 branch point, make a second save, then achieve Bad Story End 2.
  • Reload your second save, then achieve Bad Story End 3.
  • Reload your second save, then achieve Normal End.
  • Reload your second save, open all your RSVP emails, then achieve Good End.
