Gwent is getting a single-player story campaign
Thronebreaker is the name of the first story campaign for the incredibly popular Gwent.
Announced at gamescom 2017, Thronebreaker tells the story of Meve, queen of two Northern Realms. Meve is a war veteran, and her realm is facing a foreign invasion.
Developer CD Projekt RED said that the story will take players on a journey in never before explored parts of the Witcher world. The campaign will come with its own story quests and story battles.
These missions are designed to twist the game's rules "in wildly unexpected ways." Thronebreaker will also include other gameplay elements such as resource gathering.
Outside of the announcement trailer above, there's not much else to go on. The developer did confirm that Thronebreaker will be released on PC, PS4, and Xbox One later this year, but did not provide a more concrete release date.
