The wait for Xbox One X pre-orders to go live "won't be too much longer" says Phil Spencer

Xbox One X pre-orders will be live soon.

The official reveal of the Xbox One X was just over a month ago at E3 2017. Disappointingly, it wasn't up for pre-order immediately after its debut, but there was a good reason.

The official site for the console confirms that it has yet to be approved by the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) in the US. So until Microsoft gets approval, it won't be up for pre-order.

At the time, Microsoft’s Albert Penello said that there would be a “cool pre-order programme” coming later this year, but we haven't had an update on exactly what that means yet.

Over on Twitter, an eager beaver asked Xbox boss Phil Spencer about pre-orders - specifically when they'd be open.

"Our plan is set for this," Spencer replied.

"All approvals are done so now just landing the announce with all the info, won't be too much longer."

The official site hasn't been updated, as it still states that the console is awaiting FCC approval, but I imagine it'll get updated as soon as Microsoft announces that pre-orders are live.

Just sit tight for now.
