Battlefield 1 - DICE won't add a Quit button to the end-of-round screen, but there could be a workaround

You can't quit the game at the end of the round in Battlefield 1, and there's a big reason for that.

Many who are new to the Battlefield franchise, as well as some veteran players, have complained about having to wait until Battlefield 1 loads the next map, before they're allowed to quit.

The way the Battlefield 1 end-of-round transition works is that it loads the next map in the background while you view your stats, but you can't do anything else (like adjust options or quit) until the new round has started. This is inconvenient for many, but also means matches will lose a chunk of players as soon as the new round starts.

DICE is aware many want a simple 'Quit' button, but things are not that simple. DICE developer SvartAnka explained on Reddit that there's currently no way to cancel this loading and quit out.

DICE isn't implementing a lobby system in Battlefield anytime soon, but the developer is looking add an option to the screen that allows players to "queue a quit." This theoretically means the game will quit back to the menu automatically, so long as you queued a quit.

The developer offered no other details about when we might be seeing this feature in the live game. Of course, you could always force close the app or Alt-F4 on PC.

Battlefield 1 is out now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
