Sony Santa Monica hiring art director for "new unannounced title"

We don't know for sure, but Cory has openly said he had an idea for a new IP he was gonna pitch.
It's presumed that Eric Williams is the Creative Director of Ragnarok.
There's a user here on the forum (I think he's a QA Tester) that said that Cory was directing Ragnarok.
I doubt it, it was supposed to be a fairly early PS4 title, so the assets probably wouldnt look so good on late PS5 gen game.
SSM planned to become two team studio

He wrote the full script for Nordic Kratos (first game covered first half of the story), and then pusherd hard for a greenlight for a new IP.
The team can deliver Ragnarok without him directing, while he does the preprod for a new game.... But ofc I expect many angry gamers who will not like Corey moved on.
As i suspected. Most Sony's studios are working in 2 titles at the same time, following Insomniac's steps (Miles Morales + Ratchet & Clank).
Naughty Dog was working on TLOU2 and Factions. Now they are working on Factions and a new title.
Insomniac working on Spider-Man 2 and Ratchet & Clank.
Now Sony Santa Monica working in 2 games.
Sounds to me like Sony wants each studio to release something every 2 years at most.
Organic growth for sure!
Since they learn so much from each other, they probably watched whatever Insomniac was doing right and implemented in every studio, who knows? (this last part is just a guess obviously)

[speculation] Eric Williams to direct God of War 5? [new Cory Barlog tweet]
Speculation on my part but seems like there's a decent chance that Eric Williams will be directing the sequel to God of War (2018) ? He was the person who designed Kratos in the very first game and has worked on every game in the series. Here's a quote from Cory Barlog in another interview...

There was an old rumour that he'd wanted to start a new IP and it was "quite ambitious" so Sony were reluctant at the time, but agreed to green light it after the success of the last GoW. So he would move on to getting that up and running while most the the preproduction work for the new GoW games was already done anyways and so it could be left it in good hands.
Its been so long since I read it that I dunno where I saw it so feel free to consider it "tales from my ass" and ignore it.
To think SMS was ony able to release one AAA on PS4 because of that damn cancelled new IP.

Almost for sure. She's good friends with him and was just hired.
I'm "sure" she's doing it with him.
We won't hear about this for like 3 years though...
