On this week's Making Star Wars podcast, Jason Ward says he talked to someone who knows about what's going on with Jedi: Fallen Order and he says:

  • It'll be like Force Unleashed, but without the "Mountain Dew" extreme stuff like pulling Star Destroyers out of the sky.
  • That's because it's sticking to canon and what's been seen with the Force. So nothing absurd.
  • Says people would want to keep Battlefront II installed for Star Wars multiplayer.

It's at the 19:00 minute point in the podcast:

https://makingstarwars.net/2018/09/...we-will-kill-off-corey-and-he-hosts-the-show/

For reference, MSW was the only site to get the entire plot for The Force Awakens correct and they're the ones who revealed everything about Visceral's Star Wars game.

Okay but is it a custom character or another set character again? Tired of playing non-alien OCs in Star Wars games. Lemme be a wookie or twi'lek dammit.

TFU was trash from a canon and story standpoint, (Starkiller was like, every fan fiction character ever), so good that they're aiming to stick with canon

Well if we're going by yodas word about size not mattering a force user could be able to pull down a star destroyer.

Why not like the Jedi Knight series? Oh right, because that would actual involve not creating another shitty hack and slack combat system

Let's hope it's more then 4 hrs long . Otherwise I enjoyed the force unleashed games .

Would love to see something like God Of War , over the shoulder , no cuts , you and another padawan exploring , lots of mythology , Jedi powers slowly unlock .

Either way I trust Respawn to deliver an amazing game . Let's hope EA don't ruin it .

That sounds pretty good to me. I really enjoyed Force Unleashed.

Of course I'd prefer something with more advanced systems like Jedi Knight 2. Nothing has surpassed that game's lightsaber combat.

I loved the first Force Unleashed, but mainly for the over the top zaniness and the intro with Darth Vader kicking ass on Kashyyyk.

I still hope this is gonna be good. Respawn sounds like a neat developer so I'm definitely going to keep an eye out.

But STARKILLER pulling a Star Destroyer out of the sky was the only interesting part of the game -- gameplay-wise that segment was awful, but the presentation was pretty cool.

Why y'all so upset about one dude not paying off-handed lip service to an old-ass franchise.

I love Jedi Knight but damn; this isn't a Force Unleashed sequel, it's a casual point of reference.

I'm saying tho!

Summoning a force projection *light years* away and controlling it in a sense that people can't tell it's fake it's less powerful than using force pull on a Star Destroyer? Really?
Yea, that's a lot less OP then literally pulling a space ship out of the sky or literally force pushing people so hard that they disintegrate

Respawn is pretty much the only developer at EA still making quality single player content but I am not exactly jumping out of my seat here.

I have no idea what they mean by "like TFU". Do they just mean mass-combat, as opposed to fewer enemies in the JK games? I hope they don't mean "lol it's crap", like TFU.

I'm curious how EA are going to make this game have some kind of online content.

Era, I'd happily pay for an honest-to-god Star Wars space sim. A real one, like the X-Wing series. The ridiculous $$$ pumped into Star Citizen proves that the audience is there.

..I just don't trust EA to create it. At all. This exclusivity deal is garbage.

I really hope this is just the podcaster pulling from the most recent single-player third-person Jedi game (released a decade ago), and not indicative that like in FU lightsabers will have the cutting power of a whiffle bat and AT-STs can only be destroyed via QTE sequences.

Like the only good thing about TFU was the extremeness of it.
Every other aspect of it was garbage.

Y'all realize they said TFU because they're not going to use DMC or something for a frame of reference on a non-video games Star Wars podcast right?

Same.

When that Battlefront VR X-wing demo came I had hope we'd at least get a new Rogue Squadron-like space combat game from them, but no, not even that.

The only question that matters:

Is the lightsaber a baton, a sword, or a lightsaber?

The devs of the new Spiderman understood that they had to tackle the swinging to be as good or better than Spiderman 2, so why can't Jedi video game developers tackle the issue that the lightsaber should be just as deadly as it was in the Jedi Knight series?
