Rainbow Six Siege Bandit: what he can do and how to use him

Shocking behaviour

While very similar to Mute, Bandit uses a more electrifying approach to dealing with the attacking team in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege. If a surface has metal nearby, chances are his shock wire will be nearby to zap any oncoming attackers. This guide will take you through his arsenal and some dirty tricks you can pull off with his skill.

Bandit operator guide

Another more roaming orientated defender, Bandit's a great shout to complement other operators, especially the likes of Castle or Frost. Newer players can check out our Rainbow Six Siege guide hub, before returning to see just where the best places Bandit can deploy his electrical surprises.

Bandit's Stats

Armour: 1
Speed: 3

Bandit's Weapon Loadouts

Bandit has access to a couple of great guns. The M870 pump action shotgun can blow big gaps into walls, while the MP7 submachine gun has a good fire rate with half-decent damage. Both are therefore viable options. Like Jäger, his only sidearm is the P12 which is generally quite good for a pistol.

Bandit's Gadgets

In a complete contrast to the norm, take the barbed wire over the Nitro Cell. This is because his ability nicely interacts with the barbed wire, giving more potential for traps. Since he has more of the electrical devices than barbed wire, it makes more sense to at least bring some around.

Bandit's Skill

Bandit's CED-1 (Crude Electrical Device) can augment anything that's metallic with electrical properties. Be it barbed wire, a defensive shield, a reinforced wall, or any other electrical gadget. The reinforcement of a wall is particularly good as it renders breach charges useless, while barbed wire can be good for knowing when an enemy is approaching as they'll likely be shooting the CED-1 off the barbed wire. Any gunshot or electrical interference such as Thatcher's EMPs can disable them.

Should I pick Bandit?

Bandit is for those players who want to hunker down and know when the enemy is coming. With a clever use of his gadgets and skill, he can force enemies to go a certain way or give their position away. Knowledge of the maps is perhaps a bit more important for Bandit players, as knowing where to funnel the attackers into can be vital to victory.

EMPs are Bandit's biggest obstacle, so to learn about those operators who have them, head on over to our main Rainbow Six: Siege operators guide. This has links to each individual operator, as well as an overview on the more universally useful ones and which ones beginners should consider learning.
