Rainbow Six Siege Valkyrie: what she can do and how to use her

I have my eyes on you

With playing defence in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, keeping an eye on the enemy gives your team a huge advantage. Valkyrie's cameras are perhaps some of the most versatile of the bunch as they're small, can be thrown anywhere, and are hard to spot without properly searching for them. This guide will inform you about the weapons and gadgets she has, as well as some details on things Valkyrie players should watch out for.

Valkyrie operator guide

Valkyrie is a relatively simple operator to use, but knowing where to throw her cameras is key to succeeding with her. This requires map knowledge, but a reminder of basic tactics can also help, so to our Rainbow Six Siege guide hub to get some tips and tricks aimed at getting back into Rainbow Six Siege if you haven't played in a while.

Valkyrie's Stats

Armour: 2
Speed: 2

Valkyrie's Weapon Loadouts

Valkyrie's primary weapon set is a choice between the MPX submachine gun and the SPAS-12 semi-automatic shotgun. Both are viable options as the MPX has great recoil management, making multiple headshots easily to pull off, while the SPAS-12 has a great firing rate as it's a semi-automatic. Her sole sidearm is the D-50, which doesn't have a lot of ammunition in the chamber and ridiculous recoil, but more than makes up for it in pure damage.

Valkyrie's Gadgets

She has access to the deployable shield and the Nitro Cell. Since she can deploy cameras, setting up the C4 as a trap is indeed possible. For that reason, and the fact that C4 is just generally recommended in most cases, the Nitro Cell is the preferred choice.

Valkyrie's Skill

Valkyrie's Gyro Cam Mk2, or "Black Eye Cameras" feed footage shot by them to the entire team. These are thrown sticky cameras that can be attached to all kinds of surfaces, such as ceiling fans or anywhere that the enemy isn't expecting. They show up as blue in the camera feed on the phones, going red when taken out by the enemy.

Should I pick Valkyrie?

With an emphasis on surveillance, Valkyrie has a lot going on, particularly when equipped with C4 to lay an explosive ambush. She is countered by anyone who can interfere with electronics, but if the enemy can't see the blue light of a camera in use, then the enemy probably won't notice them. Just be sure to keep talking to your team to discourage them from using your cameras for you.
