Although the extremely positive reaction to the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT has caused stock shortages since launch day, it looks like the situation could change in just a few weeks. Yeston, an AMD board partner known for its often-colorful graphics cards, has suggested that stock for this new GPU launch will improve shortly, with the situation stabilizing by the end of April.
This new AMD graphics card has been the first genuinely competitive GPU that the company has produced in years, becoming the best graphics card for the average gamer. While stock levels haven’t been quite as bad as the latest Nvidia lineup, the demand for this sub-$600 card has been high enough to leave retailer shelves empty over recent weeks.
In comments made in a post on X (formerly Twitter), Yeston thanked its customers for their support, but admitted that its current AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT stock supply is now “unstable.” The company says it’s continuing to deliver new stock each week, however, and expects availability levels to become stable “after April.”
That’s supported by a recent leak on industry forum Board Channels. According to a Videocardz report on the leak, supply of the RX 9070 XT has been “really small” in March, with stock split unevenly across top-tier “core” partners such as Asus and PowerColor, leaving second-tier partners such as Yeston receiving fewer GPUs as a result.
With a supposedly non-core partner such as Yeston suggesting an improvement by the end of April, this leaves hope that RX 9070 XT stock across the board will be much improved, especially those at the genuinely decent $599 MSRP pricing. Thankfully, AMD has already offered some reassurance that it hopes to bring pricing for these cards back closer to the MSRP.
In an interview earlier this week with Hot Hardware, AMD VP David McAfee suggested that, despite the “unprecedented” demand for the RX 9070 XT, the company is working hard so that customers can “buy cards at the prices they expect to see in the market.” McAfee goes on to say that gamers can expect to see better supply “across, not just the opening price points, but across the entire range” in Q2 2025 and beyond.
This is all potentially positive news for gamers, but we’ll have to see whether AMD and its board partners can really deliver over the coming weeks and months. In the meantime, don’t forget to check out our RX 9070 XT review to see just why we think this is such a great GPU for gamers.
