In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Charcadet evolves into Armarouge or Ceruledge, depending on which version of the game you have.

Armarouge (fire/psychic) can only be obtained in Scarlet, while Ceruledge (fire/ghost) is exclusive to Violet. To evolve your Charcadet into either of these, you need an item that you trade for in Zapapico.

Where to find Charcadet

As you can see on the map below, Charcadet is just about everywhere. It’s small, so make sure to look for its red flames carefully. We caught ours in West Province (Area One) in the mountainous area.

How to evolve Charcadet into Armarouge or Ceruledge

To evolve Charcadet, you will need to trade items to this man in Zapicico:

If you have Scarlet, he’ll ask for 10 Bronzor Fragments in exchange for an Auspicious Armor. If you have Violet, he’ll want 10 Sinistea Chips in exchange for a Malicious Armor. Both of these are use items, just like evolution stones, and they’ll be consumed once you use it to evolve your Pokémon. You can buy more from the man as long as you have the supplies.

The two required items are drops that you get from defeating or catching the relevant Pokémon or its evolutions. Defeating its evolutions (Bronzong and Polteageist) seems to yield more materials.

Where to find Bronzor and Sinistea in Scarlet and Violet

You can find Bronzor and Sinistea at the locations below.

If you want the evolution that you cannot directly obtain in your game version, you can do many things:

  • Ask a buddy to trade you the evolution
  • Ask a buddy to give the item to a Pokémon to hold and then trade for that Pokémon

You cannot buy the opposite versions' evolution item in multiplayer mode, so you’ll have to use the above methods to get the item or evolution that is not native to your game.
