Genshin Impact’s Inazuma updated added a long world quest chain called “Sacred Sakura Cleansing Ritual.” The quest has several puzzles and can be complicated to finish, and it has content locked behind certain steps. Our Genshin Impact guide will summarize the Sacred Sakura Cleansing Ritual quest line, and talk about the different steps along the way.

Notably, you have to do several of these quests in order to access the Teleport Waypoint and Domain in Northern Inazuma, near the Perpetual Mechanical Array boss.

The chain has five quests, which involve finding shrines and completing puzzles. The quests are as follows:

  1. A Strange Story in Konda
  2. Sacrificial Offering
  3. Cleansing Defilement (and Hayashi of Tanuki in the Forest, which activates during this quest)
  4. Yougou Cleansing

In Cleansing Defilement, you’ll go down into ruins in Araumi. The ruins has a puzzle unrelated to the quest line. After rotating cubes, water will drain, opening up a new passageway. Eventually after rotating more cubes, the passageway to the Teleport Waypoint, Domain, and Perpetual Mechanical Array boss will open.

You actually get the tool Memento Lens to open the Araumi ruins during Sacrificial Offering, but we’re unsure if you can open the ruins early or not.

There are also a handful of Electroculus locked in areas that are only accessible once you do these quests, so if you’re looking to upgrade your Statue of the Seven in Inazuma, you will have to do these quests.

The next level of puzzles.
