There are a few constants in life: death, taxes, and Minions.
The cutesy villainous sidekicks from 2010’s Despicable Me have commandeered an empire of their own. Love them or hate them, Minions are everywhere and on everything. With three Despicable Me movies and a Minion-centric spinoff, these bouncy yellow fellas aren’t about to stop their pop culture dominance any time soon — especially with a sequel to that 2015 spinoff, Minions: The Rise of Gru, hitting theaters on July 1, 2022.
If you can’t make it till then for your next Minion fix, don’t fret. For the next 40 Saturdays, new Minion cartoons will premiere on Illumination’s Instagram and Facebook pages. That’s right! Forty new Minion shorts, each animated in a pretty damn cute 2D style. What are these lovable buffoons up to? Banana, that’s for sure! Haha, just some Minion-themed humor for ya.
The Minion bonanza kicks off on June 5, at 10 a.m. EDT. Subsequent episodes will drop weekly at the same time.
