Jujutsu Kaisen takes home top prize at Crunchyroll’s Anime Awards

Eizouken!, Re: Zero, and Kaguya-Sama were among the other shows with multiple wins

2020 was a strange year for anime, but there were still a few standout titles. For the fifth year in a row, Crunchyroll is holding its annual Anime Awards to celebrate the best shows, characters, and creators of the year.

This year’s top prize went to Jujutsu Kaisen, which also received the most awards of any series this year, including best antagonist, and best ending sequence. Other winners were spread out among a few standout series including Kaguya-Sama: Love is War, which won best comedy for the second year in a row and took home the award for best girl as well for its title character.

Crunchyroll also honored the second season of RE: Zero with best fantasy series and best Japanese voice performance. My Hero Academia season 4 took home a couple of prizes including best fight scene, an award that had plenty of competition this year. Finally, Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! nabbed two prestigious awards this year, netting both best animation and best director.
