Yes, it includes the right version of Aladdin

Two classic video games from the 16-bit era, Disney’s Aladdin and The Lion King, are coming to modern platforms this fall. Publisher Nighthawk Interactive and developer Digital Eclipse will bundle those two retro platformers in Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King, which will be released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One on Oct. 29.

Both Aladdin and The Lion King will feature “upscaled graphics to support high definition displays and additional upgrades to enhance playability” on modern platforms, according to a press release from Nighthawk Interactive. Those upgrades include save states, a rewind feature that will let players to jump backward up to 15 seconds, a level select, invulnerability, and infinite lives. The collection also include what Nighthawk calls an Interactive Game Viewer which will let players watch full game playthroughs, “with the ability to skip forward, jump in, and start playing at any point.”

The collection will include a variety of versions of each title. Nighthawk promises “multiple playable platform versions of the games” including Sega Genesis, Game Boy, and Super Game Boy releases, as well as The Lion King’s Super NES version — in other words, it doesn’t sound like Capcom’s Aladdin for Super NES will be included as part of the package. The collection also feature a new “final cut” of Aladdin and that game’s 1993 trade show demo version.

Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and the Lion King will be released physically and digitally for $29.99.

The re-release of the 16-bit-era games comes on the heels of Disney’s live-action remakes of both Aladdin and The Lion King, a pair of films that have grossed more than $2.5 billion at the box office.
