Nendoroid Mario is the cutest Mario yet

Japanese toymaker Good Smile Company is giving Nintendo's Mario the Nendoroid toy treatment with a cute, highly poseable action figure next year. Good Smile's Mario will join his brother Luigi, who was released as part of the Nendoroid line earlier this year.

Nendoroid Mario comes with two expressions — smiling and "serious" (but still smiling) — and a pair of enemies, one Buzzy Beetle and one Boo. Other props for Nendoroid Mario include blocks, coins, a super mushroom and even a little dust cloud to indicate Mario is skidding to a stop. He also comes with a pair of arms for Nendoroid Luigi, so the brothers can stand together, arms folded. Nendoroid Mario is available for import through a number of online retailers, but if you order directly from Good Smile Company, they'll throw in three extra Mario coins.

Nendoroid Mario stands 100 mm tall (just shy of four inches) and costs ¥4,167 (about $35). He'll be released May 2015.

Good Smile plans to release a Nendoroid figure of Metal Gear's Solid Snake sometime this month and will re-release Nendoroid Luigi through international shops next June.
