The telephone kiosk, with its unique address - outside 6 Castle Hill in Lincoln - will be going under the hammer in BidX1's next auction.

Mat Harris from the property company said: "It is an iconic piece of British heritage - Historic England have listed to preserve these iconic red kiosks."

He added: "It has just gone live [on the website] and I know it will be a popular lot."

With electricity connected, currently enough to run a light bulb or charger, according to Matt there is the potential to increase this power feed through UK Power.

So what could you do with it? Well, you can't move it as this is a heritage site but you could run a business from it, subject to any planning rules. And what a unique 'office' or business premise that would be!

Mat said: "Our client owns about 100 of these kiosks around the country, which he lets out for advertising or various uses. In Lincoln this could be aimed towards the tourism industry, used as a coffee shop or flower shop.

"These historic listed "K6" red phone box or “Jubilee” kiosks, commemorating the Silver Jubilee of the coronation of King George V. They were originally designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, who also designed Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral, Battersea Power Station and Bankside Power Station now Tate Modern. "

Want to view it? Well, you can clearly pop along anytime and have a peek in through a pane but if you want more information and a 'tour' you'll need to contact Mat Harris at BidX1.

The online auction takes place on Tuesday, June 29, 2021.
