Kiss
One of hard rock's most theatrical, elaborate and fan-first bands, KISS formed in 1973 in New York City and quickly became blood-spurting, fire-spitting, face-painted live favorites. While their live spectacle has always been the main draw, KISS delivered bubble-metal hits to the Hot 100, like 1975's "Rock and Roll All Nite," 1976's "Beth/Detroit Rock City" and 1977's "Love Gun."
