The Weeknd and Ariana Grande‘s “Save Your Tears” blasts from No. 9 to No. 1 for its first week atop the Billboard Global 200 chart. The song, originally released solely by The Weeknd on his 2020 album After Hours, ascends to the summit following the first week of tracking for its remix with Grande.
Meanwhile, Lil Nas X‘s “Montero (Call Me by Your Name)” lifts from No. 2 to No. 1 for its first frame atop the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. survey.
Plus, Gera MX and Christian Nodal’s “Botella Tras Botella” debuts in the top 10 of both tallies.
Billboard‘s two global charts (the latest of which are dated May 8) began last September and rank songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by MRC Data. The Billboard Global 200 is inclusive of worldwide data and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart comprises data from territories excluding the U.S.
Chart rankings are based on a weighted formula incorporating official-only streams on both subscription and ad-supported tiers of audio and video music services, as well as download sales, the latter of which reflect purchases from full-service digital music retailers from around the world, with sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites excluded from the charts’ calculations.

‘Save Your Tears’ Tops Global 200
The Weeknd and Ariana Grande’s “Save Your Tears” soars 9-1 on the Billboard Global 200. Following the April 23 release of its remix with Grande, the song (all versions combined) reigns with 94.5 million streams (up 118%) and 29,600 sold (up 205%) worldwide in the April 23-29 tracking week.
The Weeknd scores his first Global 200 No. 1, after “Tears” previously hit a No. 2 high, as did prior After Hours single “Blinding Lights.” Grande (now credited on the song on both global charts, as the new remix out-streamed and outsold the original in the tracking week) adds her second leader on the list, after “Positions” ruled for two weeks in November. “Tears” is also the chart’s first male/female duet to hit No. 1 so far.
Lil Nas X’s “Montero (Call Me by Your Name)” dips to No. 2 on the Global 200 after three weeks at No. 1; Justin Bieber’s “Peaches,” featuring Daniel Caesar and Giveon, drops 2-3 following its two-week reign; Dua Lipa’s “Levitating,” featuring DaBaby, holds at its No. 4 high; and Doja Cat’s “Kiss Me More,” featuring SZA, ascends 7-5, reaching the top five for the first time.
Elsewhere in the Global 200’s top 10, Gera MX and Christian Nodal’s “Botella Tras Botella” debuts at No. 9 with 79.5 million streams and 3,600 sold worldwide following its April 23 release. The Mexican artists each earn their first Global 200 top 10.
‘Montero’ Moves to No. 1 Outside U.S.
After spending its first four weeks on the chart at No. 2, Lil Nas X’s “Montero (Call Me by Your Name)” climbs to No. 1 on the Global Excl. U.S. ranking, where it becomes his first leader. It reigns with 71.7 million streams (up 3%) and 3,300 sold (down 15%) in territories outside the U.S. in the April 23-29 tracking week.
The Weeknd and Ariana Grande’s “Save Your Tears” surges 6-2 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart, adding a fifth total week at its highpoint, with 66.4 million streams (up 112%) and 11,600 sold (up 143%) outside the U.S.
Justin Bieber’s “Peaches,” featuring Daniel Caesar and Giveon, retreats to No. 3 after five weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart and Gera MX and Christian Nodal’s “Botella Tras Botella” launches at No. 4 (69.6 million streams; 1,200 sold); as on the Global 200, the latter is the first top 10 for each act. Rounding out the chart’s top five, Dua Lipa’s “Levitating,” featuring DaBaby, drops from its No. 3 best to No. 5.
Further in the Global Excl. U.S. top 10, Doja Cat’s “Kiss Me More,” featuring SZA, posts its first week in the tier, rising 12-8.
