A longer snippet of Taylor Swift‘s re-recorded “Wildest Dreams” can now be heard in a new trailer for Spirit Untamed, which was unveiled Wednesday (March 31).
The Grammy-winning superstar first teased the song in a shorter, minute-long version of the Dreamworks Animation film trailer earlier this month on her Instagram Story. “Thank you #SpiritUntamed for using Wildest Dreams (Taylor’s Version) in your new trailer!!” she wrote. The trailer also made its television debut during the 2021 Grammy Awards telecast on March 14.
Spirit Untamed follows the story of a headstrong girl named Lucky Prescott who moves back in with her father, voiced by Jake Gyllenhaal, in the quaint town of Miradero, where she finds kinship with a wild mustang that connects her to her late mother, a “fearless horse-riding stunt performer,” and her Mexican heritage.
“Wildest Dreams” previously appeared onscreen when Netflix’s hit series Bridgerton soundtracked a sex montage of Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon, the Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page) with Vitamin String Quartet‘s arrangement of Swift’s 1989 track.
It’s unclear when fans will hear the re-recorded 1989 album, which is the fifth out of her first six albums she plans to re-record, following the acquisition of her former label Big Machine by Scooter Braun. Swift will first drop Fearless (Taylor’s Version), the freshly minted edition of her sophomore breakthrough full-length LP and first No. 1 project, on April 9. Swift recently released “You All Over Me,” featuring Maren Morris, the first of six songs in her “From the Vault” series from the Fearless recording sessions.
Spirit Untamed will be released in theaters on June 4.
