According to Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds voice actress Janina Gavankar, the sequel to Aloy's adventure is currently in development. Gavankar didn't reveal much but did say that she knows some secrets that will blow the fans away.
Guerrilla Games' open-world action adventure from 2017, Horizon Zero Dawn is considered as one of the best PlayStation 4 exclusives. It was received positively by both players and critics and it sold over 10 million copies worldwide since its release.
Of course, for a brand new franchise, this is a huge success and while Guerrilla Games and Sony are yet to officially confirm the development of Horizon Zero Dawn sequel, we all know that it's just a matter of time before that happens.
Janina Gavankar, the actress who voiced Tatai in The Frozen Wilds DLC doesn't have the patience of Guerrilla or Sony and has basically confirmed the development of the sequel. On Star Wars Celebration event in Chicago, Gavankar stopped for a quick chat with a fan who cosplayed Iden Versio, the main protagonist from Star Wars Battlefront II, also a character voiced by her.
The fan thanked Gavankar for introducing her to Horizon Zero Dawn, to which Gavankar replied how amazing the game is and that the sequel will be even better. "It's incredible, wait 'til you see the sequel. You're gonna die - I know some secrets! - you're gonna die," Gavankar said.
Obviously, this confirms two things - Horizon Zero Dawn 2 is in development and Gavankar will be a part of it in some way. The video in which she confirms the sequel is deleted from Twitch, but just like always, the good people of the Internet did their thing and the short clip can be watched at .
The confirmation isn't really surprising, and many would be shocked if Sony didn't greenlight the sequel after the success of the first game. The biggest question is of course when we can expect Horizon Zero Dawn 2 to release. Well, for a game that is not even announced yet, it's really hard to guess anything but the recent PlayStation 5 leak revealed that 2021 could be the year.
Guerrilla Games
It sounds pretty reasonable - five to six years development cycle and a huge selling point for Sony's new console, but it's just a leak and take it with a huge grain of salt.
