Is Shia LaBeouf still #Sorry or just plain sorry?

On Thursday night, the 28-year-old actor was arrested at the Broadway musical “Cabaret” in New York for drunken behavior.

According to police, the “Transformers” star was smoking inside the Studio 54 theater and acting “loud and disruptive” during the first act of the Tony-nominated musical, which stars Michelle Williams and Alan Cumming. Law enforcement officials were notified and handcuffed the actor during intermission, escorting him out of the venue.

He was formally charged with two counts of disorderly conduct and one count of criminal trespassing in a Manhattan court on Friday before being released.

LaBeouf reportedly stood up in the middle of the “Cabaret” performance to yell at the actors onstage with a cigarette in his mouth. He was later seen crying outside the venue in handcuffs.

LaBeouf, who recently starred in Lars von Trier’s “Nymphomaniac,” made headlines in February for his odd behavior at the Berlin Film Festival, where he wore a paper bag over his head featuring the words “I Am Not Famous Anymore.” The red carpet incident was accompanied by an art installation in L.A. dubbed #IAmSorry. It referred to his plagiarized short film, which got him in hot water with a comicbook writer, spurring several apologetic tweets and sky-messages over Los Angeles.

Whether the “Cabaret” incident was part of LaBeouf’s #IAmSorry campaign is unclear, but according to CBS2 in New York, two witnesses saw LaBeouf before the show looking distraught in a ripped shirt a block away from the theater. They said LaBeouf was chasing after a man who appeared to be homeless.

“Honestly, I wasn’t thinking of drunk or drugs,” one of the witnesses said. “I was thinking he was working on a role, because it was that extreme.”

Others speculated the actor’s arrest could be tied to Friday’s release of “Transformers: Age of Extinction.” LaBeouf, who rose to stardom with the first three “Transformers” films, left the blockbuster franchise in 2011 over creative differences with director Michael Bay and has been eager to disassociate himself from the pics.
