This is Dauntless, a co-op fantasy RPG from ex-BioWare vets

Check out the PC game’s premiere trailer

Phoenix Labs, a new studio whose founders list BioWare, Riot Games and other top-tier studios among their credits, arrived at The Game Awards 2016 to debut its first game: Dauntless, an online action title that will launch on Windows PC in 2017.

The co-op multiplayer game’s premiere trailer, above, shows off its dystopian fantasy setting. Up to four players assume the roles of warriors called Slayers, who make their home in this post-apocalyptic world. As hopeless as it all seems, the Slayers craft stronger weapons and travel the world’s floating islands, hunting down giant creatures before they can destroy what does remain.

Dauntless takes after the Dark Souls and Monster Hunter series, Phoenix Labs co-founder Jesse Houston said in a statement to press. Unlike those titles, this game will be a free-to-play, downloadable title. It’s coming just to PC for now, and players who want to see more can check out the screenshots below.
