The second season of Netflix's surprise summer hit Stranger Things is officially on its way. The streaming service just revealed on Twitter that the next run of episodes will premiere next year.

Today's announcement comes with a video revealing what may or may not be the names of next season's episodes, including such eerie titles as "The Pumpkin Patch" and "The Lost Brother." We also learn that the plot will take place in the fall of 1984. (Will anyone in Hawkins, Indiana have brand new Macintoshes? We'll find out soon enough!)

Considering the series' popularity, that it would get a second season was always assumed up until now. Series creators Matt and Ross Duffer have already talked about where the show can go after the first season finale. In an interview with IGN, the brothers said that, where the first season takes place over the course of just a week or so, new episodes will explore the repercussions of what happened to the people of Hawkins exposed to the strange world of the Upside Down. They also promise "justice for Barb," the show's breakout character who was killed so callously early in the season.

Entertainment Weekly also reports that season two will feature four new characters that will join the core ensemble, along with new locations outside Hawkins, and new film influences like James Cameron, who directed such major '80s classics as The Terminator and Aliens. Cameron as an influence is especially interesting, since it suggests that there will be more of an action element going forward.
