Netflix has acquired worldwide rights to the action thriller “Wheelman,” starring “Captain America: Civil War” actor Frank Grillo.

Jeremy Rush is directing from his own script. Joe Carnahan is producing the film alongside Myles Nestel for The Solution Entertainment Group and Grillo, who’s making his producing debut.

The Solution, which is also financing “Wheelman,” introduced the film to buyers at Cannes with CAA representing its U.S. rights.

J Todd Harris, Chady Eli Mattar and Scott Silver are executive producing the movie, which starts shooting in September.

Grillo plays a getaway driver thrust into a high stakes race for survival after a bank robbery goes terribly wrong. With a car full of money and his family on the line, the clock is ticking to figure out who double-crossed him, and the only person he can trust is his 14-year-old daughter.

Grillo is the star of “The Purge” franchise and reprises his role as Brock Rumlow/Crossbones in “Captain America: Civil War.” He also toplines the DirecTV series “Kingdom.”
