
When it comes to game creation, Spencer takes a hands-off stance for studios like Xbox Game Studios, Bethesda, and Activision Blizzard. He explained that on the creative side he leaves decisions to the development teams — they’ll adopt tools that genuinely streamline their workflow — and that top-down edicts are rarely effective.
Spencer contrasted that with production-focused applications, saying the company’s current AI efforts are mainly operational rather than creatively driven. “We don’t have targets pushing production automation in our model,” he said, “so today our AI is more about operations than creative generation.”
Spencer also hinted the next-generation Xbox will aim to connect multiple devices seamlessly, citing the handheld ROG Xbox Ally as an indicator of that direction.
