World of Warcraft: Midnight’s Director Addresses Add-On Change Feedback – YouTube

“We’re committed to preserving visual customization, the ability to position information where you prefer, and the organizational conveniences players use to manage collections, quests, professions, and more,” the director said. He added that while some “collateral damage” is likely, the goal is to keep it to a minimum.
When asked whether the decision felt rushed, Hazzikostas said the studio has been planning the change for “two to three years” and that fan feedback played a major role. Many players told Blizzard they shouldn’t have to rely on third‑party tools to feel like they’re playing the game correctly.
“Players feel the game should be playable straight out of the box without turning to external aids,” Hazzikostas said. He also expressed confidence in the team’s ability to implement the change, noting that UI engineers and UX designers have prioritized this work for over a year.
If problems emerge after launch, Blizzard plans to respond quickly. “Where we are falling short, we’re going to react and prioritize quick action and quick response based on what we’re hearing from our community,” Hazzikostas said. He described the effort as ongoing.
Removing long‑standing tools is never simple, but developers believe the change will benefit the broader community, and the director’s responses aim to ease players’ concerns.
