Witchbrook — the Stardew Valley–style magic-school RPG first teased in 2016 — hits its 10th year and is delayed to 2026, but devs say it’s “taking shape exactly as we hoped”

They also noted the delay brings “a few additional exciting opportunities,” including platform and language support that weren’t part of the original plan.

Witchbrook has been announced for Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Whether the game will arrive on PS4 or PS5 remains an open question — the developers say they’ll share more information as soon as it’s available.

Chucklefish first gained wide recognition publishing indie hits such as Risk of Rain and Stardew Valley (although they no longer hold publishing rights for those titles). The studio also publishes a range of indie games and has developed internal projects like Starbound and Wargroove. Since its reveal, Witchbrook’s pixel art and magical-school setting have kept it prominent on the cozy-gaming radar amid the many farm-life and life-sim releases each year.
