Emma Stone and Yorgos Lanthimos — one of contemporary cinema’s most distinctive actor-director duos — have reunited for a new film, and Polygon is offering readers an early chance to see it.

We’re presenting a free advance screening of Bugonia on Wednesday, Oct. 15, at 7:00 p.m. (AMC Lincoln Square, Manhattan). New York–area readers can enter to win two tickets via this form. Seating is limited — register now for a chance to attend.

Bugonia marks Stone’s fifth collaboration with Lanthimos, following Poor Things, The Favourite, Bleat, and Kinds of Kindness. The pair even reunited earlier this year for an offbeat music video. In the new film Stone stars opposite Jesse Plemons (Civil War), portraying a pharmaceutical CEO who finds herself bound and gagged as Plemons’ character — unraveling at the edges of sanity — insists she is an extraterrestrial impostor. The result is classic Lanthimos: a darkly comic, unsettling tableau that keeps the viewer off balance.

The screenplay, by Will Tracy (The Menu), reworks Jang Joon-hwan’s 2003 cult favorite Save the Green Planet!, blending sci-fi, horror, and tragicomedy into a story that earned a fervent festival following. Lanthimos’ adaptation, retitled Bugonia, retains that paranoid core and reshapes it for today’s fraught moment.

Expect Bugonia to be one of this season’s most discussed films — provocative, provocative and provocative again — and sure to spark conversation. Polygon will notify winners in the days leading up to the screening.
