Valve Makes the Cheapest Steam Deck Even Cheaper

Valve has discounted the base Steam Deck by 20% for Black Friday, making the entry-level handheld an even more compelling choice for PC gaming on the go.

The 256 GB LCD Steam Deck is reduced to $319.20 on the Steam Store, down from its $399 list price. That places it at under half the cost of the 1 TB OLED model and roughly $130 less than a Nintendo Switch 2. The promotion runs through December 1.

Admittedly, 256 GB of internal storage is limited, but for players who focus on indie or older titles it will often be adequate. Storage can be expanded with a microSD card—Amazon currently has a 1 TB Samsung Pro Plus card for $79.99, about one-third off the $119.99 list price.

This is among the strongest Black Friday deals on gaming hardware right now, alongside Sony’s PS5 markdown. If you’ve been considering a Steam Deck, this could be a good moment to buy.
