As we know from the trailer, it was captured on PS5. Developers mentioned that the video is a 50/50 mix of gameplay and cutscenes. So, half of what we saw on Tuesday is actual gameplay from GTA 6, not just scripted sequences.

More technical details are provided by the tech enthusiasts at Digital Foundry in their special feature. However, their conclusions are not official information, just expert opinions.
- The true resolution of Trailer 2 is 1440p, or 2K. It was upscaled to 4K using a tool like FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR). Excluding the black bars (letterboxing) added for a cinematic effect, it’s actually 2560×1152.
- The video runs at 30 frames per second. A 60 fps mode might not be available at launch due to the impact on visual quality.
- Ray tracing, previously tested in GTA 5, will be significantly improved, including features like ray-traced shadows and reflections.
- Visually, gameplay and cutscenes will not differ, the latter running in real-time. A similar example is RDR 2.
- Characters are top-notch, especially noted are Lucia’s head hair and Jason’s arm hair (possibly using a special system for body hair), as well as realistic sweat patches on clothing.
- The only unimpressive element is the water in the bodies of water.
