GTA 6 amazed everyone, including those who made Grand Theft Auto what it is today. Former developers give us a glimpse into the current state of the game to understand why it was delayed by a whole year. The actors are doing an excellent job of further promoting the most anticipated entertainment product.
Obbe Vermeij, who worked hard on every main part up to GTA 4 (inclusive), thinks that the next is already fully playable. The second trailer likely confirmed this. According to him, developers need to fix bugs, test, and address emerging issues. After the showcase, he remarked that such demonstrations can avoid bad animation, unfinished buildings, and missing missions. The esteemed developer also believes the gameplay trailer is not far off.
Oh yes. It’s absolutely playable.
There will just be bugs to fix, artwork to refine, maybe a few missions that aren’t quite working, and more testing to do. Maybe the frame rate isn’t stable yet. Some crashes. Stuff like that.

When making a trailer you can easily work around the issues.
You can avoid glitches, bad animations, unfinished buildings, missing missions etc.
You can even record a trailer at a higher framerate than the game is running at.— Obbe Vermeij (@ObbeVermeij)

Since we’re still over a year from release, I would think they want to fix all the glitches with animations, weapon changes, getting in and out of car first.
Not for a while I think.— Obbe Vermeij (@ObbeVermeij)

Mike York, an animator, who contributed to “Five” and RDR 2, suspects that over the next 12 months, the creators will not only fix unexpected issues (due to scale) but also work on combat. However, Rockstar Games has the money, and thus, the time. They are nearly the only company in the industry that can simply delay a title until the desired quality level is reached.
Ned Luke, who played Michael in GTA 5, shared his thoughts in a recent interview. Saying that he is impressed with the beauty of the upcoming hit is an understatement. He even dedicated a special stream where he highlighted the main characters’ appearances and what is referred to as jiggle physics. He wished his newly formed colleagues to enjoy every moment of the fame they will undoubtedly have after GTA 6 releases. He doesn’t rule out a cameo, as “Rockstar keeps doors open,” and, for example, brings past characters back in GTA Online.
At Comic Con in Brussels, Shawn Fonteno (Franklin) shared the enthusiasm, while Steven Ogg (Trevor) predictably stated that he isn’t interested, doesn’t follow, and is unaware of what’s happening.
