Perhaps the biggest surprise is Arc Raiders’ omission from the Game of the Year category — it secured only a Best Multiplayer nomination. Despite recent success on the Steam charts and heated debate (fueled in part by former pro Shroud), it failed to break into the GOTY shortlist.
Arc Raiders still faces stiff competition from frontrunner Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and other strong contenders such as Donkey Kong Bananza and Death Stranding 2. Being nominated is notable this year — several standout titles, including Blue Prince, Megabonk, Indiana Jones and The Great Circle (which missed last year’s eligibility window), and Ghost of Yotei (which matched Death Stranding 2 with eight nominations), were overlooked.
Before the Game Awards, tune in to the Golden Joystick Awards on November 20 to see winners across more than 20 categories.
