GTA 6, Tomaszkiewicz says, will be “a large-scale game with large-scale marketing” — yet the former Witcher 3 game director is open to releasing his own RPG, The Blood of Dawnwalker, at a similar time.
Konrad Tomaszkiewicz of Rebel Wolves is preparing to launch his studio’s debut title and isn’t worried about going head-to-head with GTA 6. In an interview with GamesRadar+ he commented:
“I think the entire industry pays attention to GTA because, well, it’s GTA. It’s a huge game with a massive marketing machine behind it and so on. As a player, I’m perfectly happy — I’ll play it for sure. As a developer, I’m fine with it too. We’ll see how it goes.”
While many studios postpone releases to avoid overlapping with major blockbusters, Tomaszkiewicz is choosing a different path.
The Blood of Dawnwalker is slated for 2026 and intends to be a prominent action RPG in an open world, even under the long shadow cast by GTA 6.
