Silksong voice actor: Team Cherry are “healthy workaholics” who “worked a lot” but value quality of life

Lauren Koopowitz — who voices mapmaker Shakra and more than 20 other characters in Hollow Knight: Silksong — describes Team Cherry as the kind of people who work hard but remain balanced, calling them “healthy workaholics.”

“They’re very dedicated, but they’re also considerate. I feel like they’d be the best bosses — they’re mindful that people have lives and deserve a good quality of life,” Koopowitz said.

“They definitely strike a good balance. I’d be lying if I said they weren’t hardworking — they do put in a lot — but it never felt like a pressure cooker. They weren’t pushing the team to rush. They’re kind and pretty relaxed about things, which I think is healthy. Healthy workaholics,” she added with a laugh.

Later in the interview, Koopowitz described Team Cherry as “very lovely guys” who welcomed her suggestions during recording sessions.

“I’d chat and pitch ideas — like, ‘maybe she’s feeling this’ — and we’d try different directions,” she said.

It’s reassuring when a widely praised game is created by decent people, and Koopowitz’s remarks suggest Team Cherry maintains a respectful, balanced workplace — at least from her perspective.

Regarding the game’s difficulty, a Team Cherry tester who also voiced Trobbio said Silksong “was much harder when I did it” and that many boss fights were later nerfed.
