Atlus’ Shin Megami Tensei 5 comes exclusively to Nintendo Switch on Nov. 12, as announced at the E3 Nintendo Direct on Tuesday.
The latest trailer shows a student in Tokyo who has been pulled into a different dimension. In it, we see them running through a post-apocalyptic Tokyo and sprawling demon wasteland.
The cult-hit JRPG is a turn-based fighting game where you have the option to talk things out with their enemies, in addition to fighting. If you negotiate with the right responses, your enemies can join you as an ally. In the game, you can challenge demons in the world by harnessing the power of your own.
Fans have been waiting for the game for years. Although Atlus recently re-released Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne for Nintendo Switch, fans were wondering when the new sequel would come out. It was first announced in 2017, but its status has been foggy in the time since. This announcement date confirms a prior leak that the game would come in November.
