The Resident Evil 2 remake is sort of right here, and the critics have begun to weigh in. By all accounts, it’s been well worth the weight. It’s a stunningly realised reimagining of the 1998 unique that blends the beats of the traditional marketing campaign and the ambiance offered by the fashionable know-how of the Resident Evil 7 engine.
In our personal Resident Evil 2 PC review, Chris lauds the stunning humanity of the undead and the tragic tales which were expounded on within the remake, in addition to the lavish shows of gore – even when all of it does come on the expense of a number of the unique’s goofy appeal. Still, Chris concludes, “This remake is a bloodbath for longtime fans to relish, but one that stands tall among the survival horror greats of today. It would do so even without the legacy behind it.”
The reward continues throughout practically each outlet – early critiques have given the remake a powerful 91 on Metacritic and 92 on OpenCritic. “Though Resident Evil 2 has its roots firmly in the past,” GameSpot says, “it reworks the familiar horrors into something that feels brand new and all its own.”
Eurogamer concludes that “it toes the line between schlocky and scary that the older Resident Evil games managed so well, and does so in perhaps one of the most atmospheric settings ever to grace a survival horror game.”

The journey’s not over, both – some free DLC is on the way in which that’ll flip Leon and Claire again to the polygonal icons we keep in mind from the PlayStation days. That’ll be adopted up with some larger expansions with new game modes. Hopefully all of it lives as much as the usual set by this wonderful launch.
