Earlier today, a post on the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit provided an “explanation for Gortash being described as handsome and young.” That message highlights a summary of Bane’s Avatar:

Bane liked never ever to be seen personally and therefore nearly never ever sent out a pure character to the Realms. He did have people every now and then to function as his ersatz characters, favoring young and attractive males of slim develop, cultured preferences, riches, and power – usually bored young nobles. Any individual Bane had swiftly presumed the look of a good-looking, black-haired guy of oily looks and a derisive, also harsh, fashion.
