A Cyberpunk 2077 New Game Plus mode is something that was teased several years ago, but has yet to be followed up on in any major way – the 2.0 update didn’t come with NG+, and as far as we can see, there’s been no major comments from CD Projekt Red regarding the feature in recent months or even years.
See, CD Projekt publicly teased the idea of a Cyberpunk 2077 New Game Plus before, and according to a 2019 feature from Polish Magazine PSX Extreme (translated on Reddit), the mode was being “worked on.” This feature is pretty dated at this point, but it’s worth clarifying CD Projekt has never dismissed the possibility of New Game Plus. It’ may be the case that it’s the next priority in the wake of the successful 2.0 update and Phantom Liberty… or perhaps that’s wishful thinking, there’s really no evidence to support any particular idea right now.
One thing’s for sure: there’s no Cyberpunk 2077 New Game Plus Mode just yet. There’s still hope, however, given that The Witcher 3 didn’t get New Game Plus until a ways after launch as part of a free DLC. Cyberpunk could do the same, but that’s pretty much the only direction we have for now.
Even without New Game Plus, there are plenty of reasons to replay Cyberpunk 2077 or keep scouring Night City after you clear the main story. The web of Cyberpunk 2077 romance options runs deep, and the Cyberpunk 2077 respec system lets you experiment with entirely new builds (for a price).
Speaking of Cyberpunk updates still to come: here’s everything we now about Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer, which is expected to launch a few years from now.
