Pokémon TCG Pocket‘s contested Deluxe: ex card-dex behavior will receive a much-requested correction. In a brief post on X, The Pokémon Company said it will retroactively register cards from the Deluxe: ex packs across all relevant booster-pack card-dexes, after several weeks of pushback from players frustrated by unexpected gaps in their collections.
From The Pokémon Company: “When you obtain a card that appears in multiple booster packs, it will be registered in the card dex for all corresponding booster packs. Cards you have already obtained, including any cards collected from Deluxe Pack: ex, will automatically be registered in every applicable card dex retroactively.”
We’d like to share some news about future updates to the card dex in #PokemonTCGPocket. Thank you again to everyone for being part of this community and sharing your thoughts.

When Deluxe: ex packs first launched in September 2025, any card pulled from those packs would only count toward that pack’s catalog. Put simply: if you drew a Mewtwo from a Deluxe: ex pack, it would not appear in your Genetic Apex dex. The announced fix will correct those omissions—however, the update is not immediate. The company says the change is scheduled for summer 2026, roughly eight to nine months from the announcement.
That timeline drew incredulous reactions online. “Thanks, but 8–9 months for a retroactive update?” one X user wrote, adding, “Even GTA 6 will be out by then!” (source). The sentiment was echoed on the Pokémon TCG Pocket subreddit, where many questioned why a basic registration feature would require such a long wait.
For now, Deluxe: ex A4B remains available through . The packs will be removed after that date, though The Pokémon Company says it plans to reintroduce them at an unspecified time in the future.
