That said, Z‑A underperformed relative to the previous Legends entry: Pokémon Legends: Arceus sold about 6.5 million copies in its first week and generally received stronger reviews. The gap isn’t huge, but several factors could explain it — lingering dissatisfaction from Scarlet and Violet, some players waiting specifically for the Switch 2 release, or simply a lukewarm response to the new combat mechanics. Even so, selling 5.8 million units in week one is a result few publishers would complain about.
