
“People often ask me, ‘Why aren’t you making a new NieR sequel?’ or say ‘Yoko Taro isn’t doing anything,’” he said. “In truth, I’ve been working on several projects, but they never reached release.” Despite the cancellations, Yoko added that he doesn’t harbor regrets — he was compensated for the work and prefers not to publish something that doesn’t meet his standards.
“I don’t see those cancellations as failures,” he continued. “If what I would release feels odd or incomplete, it’s better that it remains unreleased.”
