Next Monster Hunter Wilds Update Arrives in December — Capcom Promises Performance Improvements and the Return of a Monster Not Seen in Over a Decade

PlayStation’s State of Play Japan (November 2025) delivered a slew of reveals — including the fourth free title update for Monster Hunter Wilds. Arriving on December 16, 2025, the update brings back the Giant Halberd Dragon Gogmazios, returning to the series for the first time since Monster Hunter 4: Ultimate (2014).

Gogmazios is the marquee addition in Title Update 4, but there’s more coming. The State of Play teased “additions to the endgame” and “seasonal events,” and Capcom followed up with extra details on Twitter after the showcase.

Capcom has been deliberately vague about some specifics. According to the game’s Steam news page, an official Monster Hunter Showcase is scheduled for early December and will cover this title update as well as new information about Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection.

A firm date for the early-December showcase hasn’t been announced, but since Title Update 4 goes live on December 16, 2025, the event is expected to occur before that date.

Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts fans left disappointed after a rumored Square Enix reveal at PlayStation’s State of Play turned out to be Octopath Traveler 0.
