Microsoft Discontinues Production of HoloLens 2 Mixed Reality Headset
A Microsoft representative stated that production of the headset has been halted, but updates will continue to be released until the end of 2027. Support for the first generation HoloLens will end on December 10.
The development of HoloLens 3 was canceled back in late 2022. Employees within the division faced mass layoffs, and the head of the department left the project in 2022.
The HoloLens 2 costs $3,500 (~330,000 ₽). The device is targeted at the corporate market and did not gain much popularity among regular users.
