Microsoft Flight Simulator is coming to Xbox Series X on July 27, Microsoft announced at the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase at E3 2021 on Sunday. The game will be available for purchase as a download and as part of the Xbox Game Pass program on day one.
The Xbox Series X version promises “the same level of depth and complexity that fans of the critically acclaimed flight simulator have come to love on PC,” Microsoft said.
Beyond that, Microsoft Flight Simulator will also get a “one-of-a-kind expansion” based on the Top Gun film franchise, expected to launch alongside the movie sequel, Top Gun: Maverick. Microsoft promises more information about the Top Gun add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator in November, when Top Gun: Maverick is slated to hit movie theaters.
Microsoft Flight Simulator originally launched for Windows PC on Aug. 18, 2020. The simulation blends real-world satellite and photographic data with live weather, air traffic, and more to create a realistic interpretation of the entire planet.
